Background

Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance Kenya (NCD Alliance Kenya) is the leading national civil society umbrella organization coordinating efforts to prevent and control non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Kenya. Working closely with government, development partners, academia, professional associations, and communities, NCD Alliance Kenya plays a pivotal role in influencing policy, strengthening accountability, and advancing multi-sectoral action on NCDs.

NCD Alliance Kenya seeks to appoint a visionary, results-driven Executive Director to provide strategic, operational, and institutional leadership and to position the Alliance as a strong national voice in health advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall strategic leadership and ensure effective implementation of NCD Alliance Kenya’s Strategic Plan.
  • Lead national policy engagement and advocacy initiatives on NCD prevention and control.
  • Strengthen governance systems, accountability, and institutional sustainability.
  • Drive resource mobilization and oversee sound financial management.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, development partners, and civil society actors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Master’s degree with several years of post-qualifications at a senior management level. (A PhD would be an added advantage.)
  • Registration with a relevant professional body where applicable.
  • At least 15 years of progressive professional experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in health sector programming, policy engagement, or health systems strengthening.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and financial oversight experience.
  • Strong understanding of Kenya’s health system and NCD policy landscape.
