Background

Bureau Veritas is a recognized world leader in testing, inspection and certification services (TIC). With more than 120 years of experience in Africa and since 1994 in Nairobi to perform pre-export verification of conformity and government services in international trade, we developed a strong knowledge of the country, its activities and patterns. JOB PURPOSE:

The East Africa Finance Lead is responsible to manage the Bureau Veritas East Africa Finance Departments, its staff, systems, procedures and processes. S/He should Lead the Finance Control function for all the East Africa legal entities, ensuring full compliance with Group and local statutory reporting requirements. The East Africa Finance Manager serves as the face of Bureau Veritas, representing its values of Trust, Responsibility, Ambition, and Ethics, and positioning the company as the preferred TIC partner.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline (master’s preferred).

CPA (K) /ACCA qualification

Technical knowledge

Advanced financial modeling

Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems

Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities

Understanding of:

IFRS/GAAP accounting standards

Financial risk management

Corporate financial strategies

Experience

At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience

Minimum 5 years in senior finance executive roles

Proven track record in strategic financial management

Experience in complex, multinational financial environments

Skills

High integrity with a commitment to safety, ethics, and quality.

Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary teams across geographically dispersed operations.

Strategic thinker with hands-on operational capability.

Strong commercial acumen and customer relationship management.

Excellent communication and influencing skills in English (and local language if applicable).
