Responsibilities or duties

Draft, edit, proofread, and publish freshwater‑related technical reports, guidance documents, and communication materials.

Develop outreach materials for global freshwater, climate, and environmental governance processes (UNEA, UN‑Water, COPs, Baku Dialogue).

Prepare communication products for high‑level meetings, consultations, and global water‑related fora.

Produce and update website and digital content, including multimedia assets and social media materials.

Support stakeholder engagement by developing inclusive communication materials for Member States, youth, Indigenous Peoples, and women.

Document and synthesize consultation outcomes, best practices, and lessons learned.

Coordinate advocacy and campaign materials to support freshwater policy priorities.

Liaise with technical experts and partners to ensure coherence and timely dissemination of outputs.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in language or communication studies with 4 years’ experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years’ experience.

At least 4 years’ experience in environment‑related communication and outreach.

Strong writing and editing skills.

Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Knowledge of website development and promotion.

Ability to plan, organize, and deliver under tight deadlines.

Cultural, gender, and diversity sensitivity.

Languages: Fluency in English required; fluency in another UN language is an advantage.
