Responsibilities or duties

Industrial Attachment – Sept – Nov 2026

Industrial Attachment - Editorial Services (News)

Core Focus: Journalism, news gathering, and editorial accuracy.

• Assist senior reporters in researching news stories and conducting interviews.
• Monitor news wires, social media, and local press for breaking news.
• Help transcribe interviews and audio recordings for reporters.
• Support sub-editors by proofreading articles and checking facts.
• Assist in coordinating the daily news lineup/editorial meeting.
• Write short news briefs and copy for the website or bulletins.
• Help manage the newsroom’s digital filing system.
• Monitor competitor news outlets and compile daily news summaries.
