Position: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Location: Tilisi – Limuru
Responsibilities or duties
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all machines and factory equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults and ensure timely repairs with minimal downtime.
- Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic workspaces in line with food safety standards.
- Train operators and technicians on machine handling, SOPs, and autonomous maintenance procedures.
- Ensure tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment are well managed and controlled.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Participate in OSHA, FSMS, and QMS compliance activities to ensure staff safety and product quality.
- Support installation of new machinery and factory projects, including supervision of contractors.
- Maintain utility systems such as power, water, air systems, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Monitor and record energy usage and utilities consumption to support energy management initiatives.
- Conduct facility inspections, SS audits, and housekeeping checks to ensure safe working conditions.
- Track statutory compliance including stack emissions, effluent discharge, calibration of equipment, and inspection of pressure vessels and lifting equipment.
- Support cost control by monitoring maintenance costs, utilities, spare parts usage, and repair expenses.
Qualifications or requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance, utilities systems, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Understanding of SS, OSHA, food safety standards, and quality systems is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
