Machakos County, nicknamed 'Macha,' was the first capital city of Kenya and is now an administrative county in Kenya. Machakos is made up of eight (8) constituencies including Machakos Town, Mavoko, Masinga, Yatta, Kangundo, Kathiani, Matungulu, and Mwala. Machakos Town is the administrative capital of the County.

Responsibilities or duties

This is the entry and training grade into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities entail:

• Collecting and collating data relating to roads infrastructure assets arid road works;
• Participating in inspections of road projects:
• Taking part in conducting site investigation:
• Taking part in locating suitable materials for roads works:
• Preparing and maintaining daily inspection reports;
• Taking part in materials testing and quality control, and
• Preparing daily inspection reports.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering. or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution:

Proficiency in computer proficiency; and

Registered by Kenya Engineering Technology Registration (KETRB) as a Candidate Engineering Technician.

Experience needed

This is an entry and training grade.

Level of Education: associate degree
