Longhorn Publishers limited is a public limited liability company wholly-owned and run by Kenyans. It was incorporated in Kenya in May 1965 as Longmans of Kenya a wholly owned subsidiary of Longman Group International of the United Kingdom. 

Qualifications or requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education or a related field.
• Strong English language, editing, proofreading and fact-checking skills.
• Good understanding of the CBE curriculum and its requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Experience working with authors, reviewers, designers and other publishing teams.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in educational publishing.

Experience needed

At least 4 years' experience in book publishing, preferably educational publishing.

Responsibilities or duties

• Ability to engage with external publishers for license printing and co-publishing
• Edit and proofread educational manuscripts to a high editorial standard.
• Ensure content is accurate, clear, engaging and curriculum-compliant.
• Work closely with authors, reviewers and designers throughout the publishing process.
• Conduct content and fact checks and ensure consistency across titles.
• Support the development of quality CBE-aligned learning materials.
• Source for manuscripts and possess an ability to come up with innovative publishing projects.
