JOB DETAILS:
The county’s rich history is joined at the hip with that of the entire nation. When the Kenya-Uganda railway line was constructed, although heavily criticized as the Lunatic Express or a road to nowhere, it had a profound impact on the creation of the nation today known as Kenya.
Responsibilities or duties
- Entry-level training under supervision;
- Assessing patients and establishing health care needs;
- Planning and implementing nursing interventions;
- Providing healthcare including IMCI, immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care, and delivery;
- Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and community;
- Referring patients appropriately, facilitating admission, and initiating discharge plans;
- Maintaining records of patients’/clients’ health condition;
- Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and
- Collecting and compiling data.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Certificate in Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Midwifery, or Kenya Enrolled Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry qualification;
- Registration Certificate from Nursing Council of Kenya;
- Valid Practicing License from Nursing Council of Kenya;
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills
