Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for Environment and Social Advisors based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The role involves conducting environmental and social assessments, including data collection, stakeholder consultations, and field visits to project sites. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality reports, supporting Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes, and advising clients on environmental and social risk management. The advisors will monitor compliance with relevant environmental and social regulations and standards, and support the development and implementation of mitigation and management plans. The role also includes collaborating with internal and external teams, contributing to proposals, and supporting capacity-building initiatives for clients and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong environmental assessment expertise, including Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Science.
  • Experience in Environmental Compliance and Environmental Consulting, preferably across diverse sectors and project scales.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Report Writing, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and evidence-based technical documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Social Sciences, Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan environmental legislation and familiarity with international environmental and social standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with common office and data analysis software, and willingness to travel for fieldwork as required.
