Responsibilities or duties
Operates light, medium and some heavy equipment and light to heavy duty trucks.
Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to project construction, operations and maintenance activities, and material control functions. May perform barrier equipment maintenance activities.
May require basic computer skills for inputting data into a USG AIS.
May operate single axle dump trucks, dual axle dump trucks with automatic and manual transmissions, loaders, roller and compactors, tractors, sprayers, sweepers, plows, forklifts, backhoes and related equipment. Checks equipment condition and reports major mechanical issues; performs minor or emergency repairs, if needed.
May train less skilled workers in operation and care of equipment.
Performs manual labor or other duties as necessary.
May provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS).
May be required to operate a rough terrain cargo handler (RTCH) on an as-needed basis.
May be required to operate and maintain aviation ground support equipment.
Performs duties in accordance with Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA) 55-series Pamphlets; Army technical publications, commercial equivalent, theater policy, and/or international and host nation regulations and codes; MIL-STD-129; DTR 4500.9R Part II, Chapter 204; and DoD 4500.36-R; ITV requirements; and provide movement data to Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Global Transportation Network (GTN) Convergence (IGC) via EDI using American National Standards Institute (ANSI) X12 codes. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred.
Requires the technical skills, job knowledge and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. Must be certified and able to operate assigned equipment.
Experience needed
Minimum of two (2) years related experience
