Responsibilities or duties

Chauffeuring: Safely drive the CEO to and from meetings, airports, official functions, and personal engagements as required, always arriving ahead of scheduled times.

Route & Schedule Planning: Plan routes in advance using real-time traffic, road closure, and security information; liaise with the Executive Assistant to align pick-up/drop-off times with the CEO's calendar.

Vehicle Care & Compliance: Keep the executive vehicle clean, fuelled, and in excellent mechanical condition; arrange and track routine servicing, insurance renewals, and licensing; conduct daily pre-trip inspections and report faults immediately.

Safety & Security: Drive defensively and within the law at all times; remain alert to security risks.

Confidentiality & Discretion: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the CEO's conversations, schedule, contacts, and movements at all times, both on and off duty.

Professional Representation: Present a professional, well-groomed appearance and courteous manner at all times, representing the CEO and the organization positively to clients, partners, and the public.

Logistics Support: Assist with loading/unloading luggage, documents, and materials; run approved errands connected to the CEO's official duties (e.g., collecting documents, dropping off items).

Flexibility & Availability: Be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and short-notice changes to the CEO's schedule, including occasional multi-day travel.

Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel usage, trip purposes, and vehicle maintenance for reporting and audit purposes.

Emergency Response: Respond calmly and appropriately to breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies, and know basic first aid procedures.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Excellent, defensive driving skills and sound knowledge of traffic laws and local routes.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness in handling confidential information.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; calm, courteous, and professional demeanor.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and problem-solving skills for minor mechanical issues.
  • Physical fitness to assist with luggage handling and to remain alert during long or late hours.
  • Sound judgment and situational awareness, particularly regarding safety and security.

Experience needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • A valid driver's license (Class B/C or equivalent) with a clean driving record of at least 5 years.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a professional driver, preferably chauffeuring senior executives, diplomats, or VIPs.
  • Secondary school certificate as a minimum; additional training in customer service, security awareness, or basic vehicle mechanics is an advantage.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct and clearance from relevant background checks.
