General Purpose
Our client, a market leader in the FMCG sector with business operations across Eastern & Central Africa, is seeking to recruit a highly driven Export Sales Manager to spearhead international market expansion and drive revenue growth across regional markets. The role involves building strong distributor networks, managing key international accounts, and executing market entry strategies that drive product penetration and revenue growth while ensuring compliance with cross-border trade regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement export growth strategies across target markets in Eastern & Central Africa.
- Identify and onboard new distributors, wholesalers, and regional partners.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging consumer trends.
- Lead go-to-market execution for new product launches in export markets.
- Build and manage strong relationships with regional distributors and key trade partners.
- Monitor distributor performance against agreed KPIs and sales targets.
- Optimize route-to-market strategies to ensure efficient product distribution.
- Expand market penetration in both formal retail and informal trade channels.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual export revenue targets.
- Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and performance gaps.
- Drive volume growth while maintaining profitability and margin targets.
- Prepare regular sales performance reports and market intelligence insights.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, trade terms, and pricing with distributors and key accounts.
- Manage key regional accounts and ensure strong business partnerships.
- Monitor stock availability, demand forecasting, and order planning.
- Coordinate export logistics to ensure timely product delivery.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, documentation, and regional trade standards.
- Work closely with supply chain teams to support demand planning and order fulfillment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or related field.
- 5+ years' experience in international (export) sales management within the FMCG sector.
- Proven experience managing export markets within Eastern & Central Africa.
- Strong track record of developing distributor networks and achieving sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, commercial, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in sales reporting tools and Excel.
