Responsibilities or duties

Fabrication Duties

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and workorders
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts using tools such as grinders, cutters, and welding equipment
  • Perform welding (MIG/TIG/Arc) as required
  • Measure and mark materials for accurate fabrication
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications

Machine Operation

  • Operate machines such as CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, presses, or cutting machines
  • Set up machines and adjust settings for optimal performance
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Load and unload materials into machines

Maintenance & Safety

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machines
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition
  • Follow workplace safety standards and use PPE at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Requirements

  • Possession of a Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or a related technical field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various welding techniques and the use of specialized machine tools.
  • Strong ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering and technical drawings.
  • Thorough understanding of safety standards and protocols within a manufacturing environment.

Experience needed

  • Proven professional experience in metal fabrication and industrial machine operation.
