Responsibilities or duties
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities, systems, and electrical equipment as identified in the technical sub-annex, ensuring they are maintained to a standard that prevents deterioration beyond normal wear and tear.
- Inspect, evaluate, and assess the condition of electrical systems and equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety, performance, and government regulations.
- Identify deficiencies and implement timely corrective actions to maintain the full life expectancy of electrical facilities, systems, and equipment.
- Lead a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance and oversight for electrical maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of electrical maintenance activities into facility operations.
- Monitor and manage electrical system performance metrics, ensuring compliance with contract standards and government regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, including relevant safety regulations and procedures.
- Provide training and support for team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote professional development.
- Respond to electrical system emergencies and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of facility and electrical system maintenance programs.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Experience needed
- 5-7 years of experience working in electrical maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Licensed as a Journeyman or Master Electrician or equivalent certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in electrical systems or related fields are highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and best practices for electrical equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for electrical systems.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage teams and prioritize maintenance schedules.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to electrical systems and facility maintenance (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, IEEE).
- Proficiency in using CMMS or other maintenance and work order systems to track and report maintenance activities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
- Valid country driver’s license and passport.
- Prior experience maintaining electrical systems in a government or military facility.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems for large-scale facilities, including HVAC, emergency power systems, and lighting.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in high-paced operational environments.
