We invite applications for the posts of Factory Machine Operators that have arisen in our Tea Estate Division. These are junior management positions within our structure.

THE JOB
Reporting to the Factory Assistant, the job holder will be responsible for running and maintaining machinery in the assigned section of the process network to achieve the set target.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Running the machinery in the process network as assigned
- Attend to machinery breakdowns expeditiously and call for assistance where necessary.
- Maintain the stipulated manufacturing parameter.
- Comply with accreditation systems, e.g., ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety, EHS, Rain Forest Alliance (RA), Fair Trade (FT), Organic Soil Association (SA), and to drive total compliance with their policies and procedures.
- Be conversant with Continuous Improvement programs and implement all the principles therein.
- Ensuring that all employees in the section are clocking in/out correctly as per the procedure.
- Ensure optimum use of available resources through proper allocation of labour.
- Ensure Compliance with all Food Safety Management System requirements.
- Liaise with the quality control personnel to ensure that product parameters are met to avoid production of out-of-spec products.
- Update and maintain all documentation in the section.
- Responsible for the safety and health of self, other employees, and equipment in the section by adhering to safe operations and highlighting any safety issues that arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Food Science/ Mechanical Engineering
- At least 1 year of experience in a busy Tea factory.
- Computer Literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organising and planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Must be a team player.
