Smart Farm is looking for a hardworking and experienced Farm Agronomist to join our team in Kagio, Kirinyaga County. The right person will oversee day-to-day crop production, manage farm workers, and ensure our farm runs smoothly through every season.
What You Will Do
- Plan and oversee all crop activities — from land preparation to harvest
- Monitor crops and take action against pests, diseases, and weeds
- Carry out soil testing and recommend the right fertilisers
- Manage irrigation and ensure water is used efficiently
- Supervise and guide farm workers on a daily basis
- Keep clear records of inputs, yields, and farm costs
- Source seeds, fertilisers, and other inputs as needed
- Advise management on crop choices and ways to improve productivity
- Ensure the farm follows good agricultural and environmental practices
- Liaise with suppliers, extension officers, and buyers when required
What We Are Looking For
- A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field
- At least 1–2 years of hands-on farm experience (solid internship experience is acceptable)
- Good knowledge of crop production, soil health, and pest management
- Familiarity with crops grown in the Kirinyaga region — maize, vegetables, rice, etc.
- Ability to operate basic farm equipment and tools
- Good record-keeping and communication skills
- Comfortable leading and supervising a team of farm workers
- Willing to live and work full-time on the farm
- Honest, reliable, and hardworking

Benefits
- Monthly salary: Kshs 16,000
