ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading Digital Credit Provider (DCP) is seeking a detail-oriented and integrity-driven Field Evaluation Officer to conduct thorough on-ground assessments of prospective and existing clients. The role is central to supporting quality credit decisions, driving market growth, and preventing fraud through physical verification and field intelligence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Intelligence
- Conduct structured surveys to identify new markets and portfolio expansion opportunities
- Map and analyse competitor activities, products, and pricing
- Prepare periodic market intelligence reports to guide business strategy
- Support branch-level marketing drives and field promotion campaigns
Loan Evaluation & Verification
- Conduct site visits (residence and business) to verify applicant information
- Assess character, capacity, collateral, and cashflow of applicants
- Verify guarantor details, gather neighbourhood feedback, and review supporting documents
- Prepare accurate, well-documented field evaluation reports to support credit approvals
Fraud Prevention & Detection
- Apply field-level fraud deterrence and prevention measures
- Detect inconsistencies through direct engagement with customers, neighbours, local leaders, and stakeholders
- Identify and escalate fraud red flags, suspicious activities, or misrepresentations
- Support investigations through evidence collection and factual field findings
Branch Support & Compliance
- Ensure branches meet evaluation, disbursement, and portfolio-quality targets through timely assessments
- Identify operational bottlenecks early and escalate to branch and credit management
- Collaborate with credit and recovery teams to enhance field efficiency
- Provide daily/weekly evaluation updates and risk insights
- Maintain accurate, GPS-tagged and photo-supported field evaluation records
- Ensure all evaluations comply with company credit policy and documentation standards
- Handle all personal information in line with the company's Data Protection Policy
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma/Certificate in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- Strong understanding of credit evaluation and risk assessment
- High integrity with strong ethical standards
- Excellent field verification, observation, and reporting skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to detect fraud indicators and inconsistencies
- Proficiency with digital field tools, GPS, and mobile reporting systems
- Good knowledge of market dynamics and customer behaviour
- Ability to work independently and meet tight timelines
