About the Program:

The Project is designed to facilitate Best Schools Initiative activity plans in the identified schools within informal settlements.

Location & Scope:

Implementation will be in the informal settlements of Kibera and partner counties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the mobilization and organization of project activities to create community awareness and advocate for beneficiaries in the community and schools.
  • Ensure timely updates of field reports, data collection, and update on emerging issues from all implementing schools.
  • Assist in community dialogues and discussions with beneficiary schools and education community.
  • Organize and conduct spot checks on implementing schools for continuous monitoring of implementation processes.
  • Facilitate communication: act as a liaison between the school, the project and the community, ensuring that all parties are informed and involved in the project.
  • Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time.

Academic Qualifications and Experience:

  • KCSE certificate.
  • Training/certificate in social work, community development, CHW training, education or relevant field is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in communities, community development initiatives or education related engagements is desired.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Additional experience with school-related engagements and related practices.
