Background

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the United Nations and its partners to deliver projects and services in peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development settings.

Responsibilities

The Finance Associate will be responsible for a range of financial and administrative tasks to support the efficient functioning of the office. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and reimbursements.
  • Maintaining financial records and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial statements and audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNOPS financial regulations and procedures.
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of [X] years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial software and systems is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a UN system environment is desirable.
