About the Role

The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in financial operations within a leading economic research organization. The intern will support the finance department in various tasks, contributing to the smooth functioning of AERC's financial activities.

Responsibilities

The Finance Intern will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day financial operations, including but not limited to:

  • Processing invoices and payments.
  • Assisting with bookkeeping and record-keeping.
  • Supporting budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Helping with financial reporting.
  • Performing other finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum CPA II qualification.
  • Exposure to the development sector is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
