Finance Manager

Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting across all group entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Lead monthly and annual reporting cycles, providing clear insights, variance analysis, and performance commentary.
  • Serve as “headquarters” for regional operations in East Africa, providing support and sometimes guidance to local EcoSafi accountants in nearby countries
  • Be a strategic leader and design and drive process improvements, implement scalable solutions and financial systems, as well as participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over all transactions and reporting

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect company assets
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and statutory filings across the company, in conjunction with the CFO.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead/Support the annual budgeting process and manage rolling forecasts in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Perform Budget & Forecast variance analysis to support budgetary control and financial statement accuracy and completeness
  • Provide financial analysis in support of company and department objectives and work with stakeholders to develop solutions to improve their performance and understanding
  • Forecast and monitor cash flows for proper liquidity management, ensure compliance with payment and expense authorization policies, and approve cash flows disbursement

Accounting

  • Work with logistics department to manage financial information related to manufacturing cost and physical inventory counts
  • Forecast and monitor cash flows
  • Review, enter and approve all inbound payable invoices
  • Monitor transactions related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, G/L and Capital Assets
  • Supervise all accounting work (with outside accountant) for financial statement preparation and implement control mechanisms for accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventories.
  • Work with HR (and accountant) to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports as needed
  • Other duties and reporting as required

Knowledge and Experience

  • Professional accounting designation CPA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • At Least 7 years' experience in a similar role
  • Mastery of IT tools, accounting systems and a mastery of IFRS accounting standards
  • Comfortable with a variety of software including AI tools, whatsapp integrations, and other cutting edge software
  • Expertise in a manufacturing environment and demonstrate leadership and initiative.
  • In-depth expertise in integrated information systems (ERP) and strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Experience with Shareholder, Lender and Grant reporting a plus
  • Experience with multiple jurisdiction a plus
  • Experience with carbon credits a plus
