Position Summary

  • The Finance Manager will lead financial planning, compliance, and reporting to ensure the sustainability of St. John Kenya’s mission-driven programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
  • Lead budgeting and expenditure monitoring across departments.
  • Prepare timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage credit control, receivables, and client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strengthen internal controls and coordinate audits.
  • Champion financial systems integration and data security.
  • Mentor finance staff and promote a culture of accountability.
  • Support donor compliance and proposal development.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • CPA-K / CIFA / ACCA certification.
  • Leadership training from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with 5 in senior management.
  • Experience managing donor funds and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and crisis management skills.
