Role Overview

MOHI Africa is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to join our team in Nairobi. The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and organizational policies.
  • Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to program staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar finance role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and Kenyan financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
