Role Context

UNIF Kenya is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the strategic financial planning of UNIF Kenya. This position is integral to maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare financial reports, statements, and budgets for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support budget monitoring and control processes.
  • Process payroll and manage staff reimbursements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience Needed

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial management or accounting roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.
