Background
Our client is an Oil & Gas company based in Dubai. They are looking to hire a Senior Finance Officer responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and controls to support business decision-making and ensure financial integrity. The role works closely with senior management to analyze financial performance, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions in compliance with IFRS and DRC regulations.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Prepare accurate balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Monitor and report on financial health, liquidity, and cash flow.
- Reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and bank statements promptly.
- Lead the audit process and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Support the transition to a new accounting system, ensuring data integrity and audit continuity.
- Analyze financial results and present insights to senior management.
- Develop and maintain working capital models and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in financial planning and strategic decision-making through modeling and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with DRC financial legislation and statutory requirements.
- Conduct due diligence, KYC, and AML checks for onboarding and monitoring counterparties.
- Lead ERP system implementation and ensure seamless integration and user adoption.
- Continuously improve financial processes and internal controls.
- Open and manage accounts with financial institutions to support operational continuity.
- Manage treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity planning, and short-term investment decisions.
- Handle trade finance activities such as letters of credit, bank guarantees, documentary collections, and related documentation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and regional banks, ensuring access to financing, FX facilities, and operational support.
- Provide financial oversight for regional operations and transactions involving Tanzania, Kenya, and Mozambique, ensuring compliance with local regulatory, tax, and banking requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience working with or supporting financial operations in Tanzania, Kenya, or Mozambique.
- Proven experience in treasury management and trade finance.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and develop relationships with local banking institutions.
- Fluency in English and Swahili required. Somali language is an added advantage.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate
