The Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) Cluster manages significant donor funding to strengthen agricultural value chains and food security across Kenya.

Position Overview

The Finance Specialist will manage the financial administration, budgeting, accounting, and compliance operations for the Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) Cluster programs. This position ensures accurate financial tracking, timely fund disbursements, and full alignment with donor and internal auditing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Planning: Prepare annual cluster budget plans, monitor monthly expenditure forecasts, and manage cash flow requisitions.
  • Accounting & Reporting: Oversee ledger entries, invoice processing, fund transfers, and local bank account reconciliations.
  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal financial reviews, ensure compliance with tax and statutory regulations, and coordinate internal/external audits.
  • Grant & Partner Management: Review financial reports from partner organizations, grant recipients, and sub-contractors.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
  • Experience: Proven experience managing financial operations for donor-funded projects or international organizations.
  • Skills: High proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP), budget analysis, financial risk management, and internal auditing standards.
