We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Finance and Operations Assistant to balance dual critical functions across our client's organization. In this role, you will be responsible for executing everyday accounting tasks, maintaining absolute regulatory compliance, coordinating freight and logistics, and streamlining vendor operations to ensure maximum day-to-day organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial & Tax Accounting: Post transactions into the internal accounting system accurately and timely. Prepare and file required tax returns (including VAT, Instalment Taxes, and WHT) via the iTax portal.
  • Cash & Bank Management: Manage internal petty cash records, review travel budgets against verified supporting documentation, and assist with bank correspondences and reconciliations.
  • Collections & Compliance: Monitor and manage outstanding debtors, conducting on-site collections when necessary. Handle corporate registrations with regulatory bodies such as the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • Audit & Tender Support: Coordinate and follow up with internal auditors, provide broad audit support, and prepare and submit institutional tenders accurately and on time.
  • Logistics & Inventory Control: Coordinate directly with freight agents for shipping clearance. Conduct comprehensive stock reconciliations, perform periodic physical stock takes, and actively monitor stock levels to avoid stockouts.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Section 2 in progress is explicitly required.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in modern accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a collaborative team setup.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to travel within the region for field duties (having a valid driver’s license is considered an added advantage).
