Role Context
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in financial management within a non-profit organization. The intern will work closely with our finance department, supporting various financial operations and contributing to the smooth running of our programs.
Responsibilities
The Finance Intern will be responsible for:
- Assisting with bookkeeping and data entry.
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports.
- Helping with budget tracking and analysis.
- Processing invoices and expense claims.
- Assisting with financial record-keeping and filing.
- Performing other finance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in a finance-related role is an advantage but not required.
Additional Notes
This is an unpaid internship position. A stipend may be provided to cover transportation and lunch expenses. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector.
