Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will support the Global Business Services (GBS) team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to Accounts Payable (AP), Record to Report (R2R), and Fixed Assets and making sure all reconciliations have been performed and are accurate . This role involves collaboration with various departments to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable (AP): Act as the first touch point between GBS and the Business on Technology solutions vendors
  • The first escalation escalations point from vendors
  • Review vendor invoices and payments.
  • Review all Reconciliations undertaken by GBS for AP accounts and ensure resolution of all noted discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Record to Report (R2R): Review all monthly Journals and ensure its fully supported in Blackline
  • Review, Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Support all month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Fixed Assets: Review and manage fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Conduct periodic asset verification and reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with fixed asset policies and procedures.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the shared services team.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing financial insights and responding to inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within a shared services environment.
