Company and Job Description:
The Finance Controller will oversee the full Finance function, providing strategic financial leadership and analytical insight to enable sound business decisions. Reporting directly to the Country Head (Kenya) and the Group CFO, the successful incumbent will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and supporting business expansion
Note - This role is specifically earmarked for candidates originally from Kenya, including those currently based abroad and considering a return
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop financial strategies, including risk minimisation and opportunity forecasting.
- Oversee high-level financial reporting, analysis, and management of information systems (MIS).
- Lead budget consolidation and manage cash flow and treasury operations, including banking relationships.
- Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with statutory and financial regulations.
- Drive cost efficiency and continuous process improvement across the business.
- Manage debt collection, tax submissions, and finalisation of financial statements.
- Provide investment insights and support major commercial decisions.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to achieve strategic business goals.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Relevant Finance/Accounting degree/qualification
- Around 5 years of experience in Finance
- Experience within the trading and distribution industries is highly preferred; manufacturing experience will also be considered
- Exposure to SAP is an advantage
