Responsibilities or duties
Delivery of Agri-business company plan commitments
Provision of timely and accurate financial management information relating to Leaf, forecast accuracy of leaf costs including blends, working capital and a cause of change for any variances
Challenging status quo on potential productivity savings opportunities including participation in loss analysis and ideas generating forums
Proactive management and accurate reporting of losses including early warnings of potential risks
Ensure appropriate treatment of import duties, levies and costs relating to leaf
Liaise with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Accurate cashflow and working capital management of Leaf related inputs
Drive the control environment on asset and inventory management.
Drive compliance to internal controls and engage the Leaf and GLT team to inspire a culture of continuous improvement including driving a controls culture
External relationship engagement to gain insights and leverage to achieve deliverables and support our business interests.
Support site accreditations qualification agenda
Implement processes to proactively manage and meet trade blocs threshold compliance
Liaise with key stakeholders to expand breadth of knowledge, technical expertise and collaborate to achieve business objectives
Work with Shared Service Teams to ensure accuracy of cost roll up forecasts
Working with Area/Regional Operations Finance Teams on information requests
Develop leadership skills for own career advancement
Contribute to shaping BAT’s inclusive culture by demonstrating the right behaviors
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Financial or audit background with a professional accountancy qualification (such as ACCA, CPA) and a relevant university degree.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Prior experience in an FMCG or agri-business environment is an added advantage.
Working knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to manage relationships and work with managers across all levels within the company and externally.
Good influencing skills with ability to interact with all levels of senior management.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and externally – this should be demonstrated by successful experience in business partnership and decision support.
Clear understanding of commercial business drivers.
Project management skills – able to work independently and maintain level of independence whilst working in partnership with the leaf, operations and finance functions
Experience needed
Minimum of 8 years relevant finance/audit experience
