Responsibilities or duties
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and file accurate flight plans in accordance with KCAA regulatory requirements, company SOPs, and international standards. Monitor flights from departure to arrival, provide operational support, and maintain flight watch while delivering timely updates to crew and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough weather analysis and assess potential operational impacts on flights, advising on necessary adjustments.
- Ensure full compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs).
- Coordinate effectively with pilots, ground handling teams, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and other relevant authorities to ensure smooth flight operations.
- Assist in fuel planning, load optimization, and cost-effective operational decision-making.
- Handle operational irregularities, emergencies, and disruptions while providing prompt and effective solutions.
- Maintain proper records, documentation, and accurate logs of all flight-related activities.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Requirements
- Valid KCAA Flight Dispatcher licence or its equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs).
- Demonstrated proficiency in flight planning.
- Must possess a valid driving licence.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Experience in charter or humanitarian operations, proficiency in a foreign language, familiarity with ForeFlight, Jeppesen or similar flight planning systems, and broad knowledge of regional airspace (Africa and worldwide) will be considered an added advantage.
Experience needed
- Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience in flight dispatch or flight operations.
