Job Purpose

The Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all front office operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient daily operations, and optimal revenue performance. The role involves supervising front office staff, maintaining high service standards, managing reservations and guest relations, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the front office, including reception, reservations, concierge, and guest services.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate front office personnel to ensure high levels of performance and customer service.
  • Ensure efficient check-in and check-out procedures while maintaining excellent guest experiences.
  • Handle VIP arrivals, guest complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Coordinate room allocations with the Housekeeping Department to maximize occupancy and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor room inventory, occupancy levels, and reservation accuracy.
  • Prepare front office schedules and ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, daily reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and hospitality standards.
  • Monitor online guest reviews and implement service improvement initiatives.
  • Train staff on customer service standards, hotel systems, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional hospitality certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar Front Office Management position within a reputable hotel or resort.
  • Experience using hotel property management systems (PMS) is essential.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Financial management and cash handling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
