The successful candidate will support the Financial Controller in ensuring all ledger accounts as per the trial balance are reconciled and reflect accurate balances.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial transactions in the general ledger, including monthly trial balance reconciliations in line with the Chart of Accounts and USALI standards.
- Review, post, and approve journal entries from the finance team, ensuring all journals are properly supported and authorized.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, and address variances against budget.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations by the 3rd of each month and follow up on outstanding reconciling items for clearance.
- Manage all prepayments, accruals, and ledger updates, incorporating finance review feedback and responding to queries as required.
- Oversee tax compliance, including filing of tax returns and other statutory payments, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization of assets from work-in-progress, monitoring, and disposal of assets.
- Support annual budgeting, facilitate internal and external audits, ensure proper document filing and archiving, and participate in performance reviews within the finance department.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; master’s degree and professional qualification CPA is required.
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in financial management, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- High level of accuracy, transparency, and financial accountability.
