Reports To: Operations Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Monitoring Officer to support loan performance and portfolio quality. The role focuses on monitoring clients, ensuring timely loan repayments, managing risk, and supporting debt recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify customers due for collection and ensure timely repayments
- Monitor client accounts and follow up on overdue payments through calls and field visits
- Evaluate the financial status of potential and existing clients
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare detailed reports
- Monitor the company loan portfolio and identify potential default risks
- Recommend and implement effective debt recovery solutions
- Negotiate repayment plans with clients in default
- Provide daily and weekly collection/payment schedules to clients and field officers
- Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio performance reports for management
- Support credit review meetings with accurate data and insights
- Track product performance through data analysis and reporting
- Follow up with internal teams to reconcile payments and ensure accurate transaction posting
- Send regular reminders to customers on repayment schedules
- Monitor defaulters to prevent repeated non-compliance
- Present repayment transaction records as required
- Provide reports to management as needed
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any related business field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role (e.g., portfolio or credit monitoring)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Proficiency in statistical or data analysis tools
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to conduct field visits for collections and client follow-ups
