About The Role:

The Global Clean Cooking Marketing Strategist will lead the development and execution of global marketing strategies that drive awareness, adoption, average revenue per user (ARPU) and commercial success of clean-cooking solutions across diverse markets.

The objective of this role is to:

  • Create strategies and campaigns to support sale of cooking equipment
  • Create strategies and campaigns to increase gas sales at customer homes
  • Create strategies and campaigns to increase the number of EOs selling cooking products and cooking gas.

Key inputs to delivering these objectives is hinged on the development of a compelling clean cooking brand & marketing strategy, that will translate into on-ground execution initiatives that deliver strong customer growth, gas sales and everyday gas usage. This role involves strong collaboration with in-country Marketing teams, ensuring strong customer insights, compelling value propositions and consistent brand storytelling that accelerates growth and impact. This role is central to scaling clean-cooking adoption across Sun King targeted markets - improving household health, reducing environmental impact and enabling energy independence for millions of families. The Global Clean Cooking Marketing Manager will shape how clean cooking is understood, valued and adopted in our markets.

What you will be expected to do:

Global Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and own the global brand & marketing strategy for clean-cooking products, aligned with company growth, profitability and impact objectives.
  • Selling clean cooking value proposition to ensure growth in average revenue per user (ARPU) from day 1.
  • Growing LTV to EOs, customers & installation riders to drive retention.
  • Spend time in-market to develop regional & localised nuances/ roll-out of plans & adoption of strategy to unlock the clean cooking opportunities.
  • Data analytics to gather customer insights that lead to commercial goals impact: ability to structure data inputs, hypotheses, set up qualitative queries & surveys and assumptions and use data points to guide and to produce specific, accurate and relevant business commercial outcomes.
  • Ability to analyse historical customer data to recommend the best possible course of action or execution steps, resulting in measurable commercial impact.
  • Translate business goals into clear go-to-market strategies across priority regions and customer segments, based on customer data interrogation & queries.
  • Define global messaging, positioning, and value propositions for clean-cooking solutions.

Go-to-Market & Campaign Execution

  • Lead global product launches and integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, field, and partner channels.
  • Create scalable campaign toolkits and playbooks that enable effective local market execution.
  • Partner with regional and country marketing teams to localize campaigns while maintaining global consistency.

Customer & Market Insights

  • Drive deep understanding of clean-cooking consumers, usage behaviors, barriers to adoption, and cultural contexts.
  • Spend 50% to 60% of your time in the field, gathering qualitative and quantitative research to inform strategy development, messaging, pricing communication and channel strategy.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy or donor-driven dynamics affecting clean cooking.

Brand, Communications & Content

  • Ensure consistent and compelling brand storytelling that communicates benefits such as cost savings, health, convenience, and environmental impact.
  • Oversee development of customer-facing content including sales materials, digital assets, retail POS, and educational tools.
  • Collaborate with communications and PR teams on thought leadership and impact narratives.

Performance Management & Optimisation

  • Define success metrics and KPIs for campaigns, launches and on-going marketing programs at a global level as well as for in-market campaign measurement.
  • Track performance, generate insights and continuously optimise marketing effectiveness and ROI with in-market teams.
  • Report regularly to the VP of Marketing & Commercial/Sales team on KPIs measurement, ROI, market learnings and recommendations.
  • Develop and roll-out Clean Cooking marketing playbook, together with in-market Marketing teams across new market entries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Regional Marketing Teams, Commercial/Sales, Product and Partnerships teams to ensure alignment from product development through to commercialisation.
  • Support sales teams with tools, training materials and insights to improve conversion, customer engagement and repeat usage.
  • Develop compelling agent propositions to retain & ensure continued agency performance.
  • Contribute marketing perspective to pricing, distribution and partnership decisions.

You might be a strong candidate if you have:

  • 8 to 12 years of marketing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a global or regional role.
  • Strong experience in consumer goods, energy access and LPG/ clean cooking solutions industries.
  • Proven success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies across multiple markets.
  • Excellent strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability.
  • Experience working with cross-cultural and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience marketing products in emerging or frontier markets.
  • Familiarity with behavior-change marketing and affordability-driven propositions.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
