Zoomlion Waste Services Management Kenya is seeking a Governance and Communications Officer to support effective corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic communications. The role ensures that the organization operates within applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, maintains strong relationships with government and community stakeholders, and communicates its operations and impact effectively to internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities or duties
- Support corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with government and community stakeholders.
- Communicate the organization's operations and impact effectively.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Manage internal and external communications.
- Prepare reports and documentation for governance and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Governance, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Corporate Governance, Communications, Public Policy, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Professional membership (e.g. ICPSK – Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, PRSK – Public Relations Society of Kenya, LSK for legal practitioners) is preferred.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 3–6 years of experience in a governance, corporate secretarial, communications, or public affairs role.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance and government relations in Kenya is essential; familiarity with NEMA, county government structures, and business regulatory bodies is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in corporate communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in the waste management, utilities, infrastructure, or public sector is an advantage.
