Rafiki Wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT) is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable youth and communities through education, health, and economic empowerment programs. We seek a competent and results-driven Grants Accountant to strengthen our financial management and ensure full donor compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate project financial records (ledgers, journals, petty cash, bank books).
- Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with approved donor budgets.
- Prepare monthly donor financial reports and budget vs. actual analyses.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain supplier/debtor accounts.
- Support proposal budget preparation and cash flow projections.
- Ensure timely statutory deductions and maintain Fixed Asset Register.
- Prepare for project audits and uphold strong internal controls.
- Support procurement and inventory compliance for donor-funded projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA K or ACCA qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in NGO grants accounting.
- Experience managing donor-funded projects and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong understanding of Kenyan statutory and financial compliance requirements.

High integrity, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
