SIHA Network is hiring a Grants Associate to support the transparent and effective management of its subgrants process across the Horn of Africa. Under this role, you’ll work with SIHA’s country teams, finance and MEL units to enhance the quality and impact of our grant-making intiatives for partners on the ground.
The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a regional feminist organization that works to promote gender equality, social justice, and women’s human rights. Through partnerships with grassroots women’s groups, SIHA strengthens women’s agency and challenges systems of discrimination across the Horn of Africa.

Ensure subgrant applications and awards comply with SIHA and donor guidelines. Review, track, and document subgrant applications, awards, and disbursements. Support country teams and grassroots partners to meet reporting and compliance requirements. Work with finance teams to review budgets and ensure cost-effective planning. Maintain and update the subgrant database, generating summaries and reports. Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes, sharing lessons and best practices. Promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in grant management.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Women’s Rights, Social Studies, Communication and Advocacy, Human Rights, Development Studies, Management Studies, or a related field. At least four (4) years of relevant experience in grants management, program administration, or information processing in an NGO or development setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of basic budgeting, contracting, and financial management. Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic, Somali, or Amharic is an added advantage. Experience working in the Greater Horn of Africa countries as Somalia, Somaliland, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Djibouti Good understanding of women’s rights challenges in Africa and the Horn of Africa, with a strong commitment to feminist principles. Strong attention to detail, good organizational and follow-up skills. Demonstrated ability to multitask, work independently, and meet tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within diverse teams and cultural contexts. Proven capacity to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
