Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. As a Grants Writer for the Human Development Fund, you will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, conducting prospect research, drafting compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align funding requests with organizational priorities and ensure accuracy in reports to donors and partners. The Grants Writer will play a key role in securing resources to further HDF's mission.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Grant Writing, Proposal Writing, and crafting compelling narratives
  • Proficiency in Grant Administration and managing application processes
  • Experience with Prospect Research and identifying potential funding opportunities
  • Familiarity with Fundraising strategies and donor relationship management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, English, or a related field
  • Proven track record of securing grants and funding preferred
  • Knowledge of humanitarian or development fields is an asset
