Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and risk management across the Group and its subsidiaries. This strategic leadership role includes managing interest rate, currency, and liquidity risks; optimizing capital allocation across jurisdictions; and aligning local ALM practices with Group-wide standards. The role also carries responsibility for institutional debt raising and managing relationships with debt investors. The ideal candidate must have prior experience within the Banking sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Group’s consolidated ALM strategy, ensuring alignment across subsidiaries.
  • Design and execute a Group funding plan, balancing local subsidiary needs with centralized funding efficiencies.
  • Develop a debt-raising strategy for the next 3 – 5 years, including managing the financial model
  • Collaborate with the Risk and Finance teams to allocate capital and funding based on risk adjusted returns.
  • Prepare consolidated ALM dashboards, liquidity reports, and funding updates for Group ALCO and the Board.
  • Develop policies, practices and reporting, working with our Tanzanian subsidiary’s finance function. The other subsidiaries’ finance functions are managed by Group Finance.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s, CFA, or FRM preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in ALM, Treasury, or Capital Markets roles within financial services; experience in multi-country or Group settings is essential.
  • Strong understanding of cross-border funding, foreign exchange exposure, and multijurisdictional regulatory frameworks.
