Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for leading and executing HR strategies that support the company’s overall goals and operational needs. The role oversees recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training, compliance, and culture development. It ensures adherence to labor laws and company policies while fostering a productive and engaged workforce across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and systems aligned with company objectives.
  • Oversee the full recruitment and selection process, ensuring timely placement of qualified candidates.
  • Manage onboarding, orientation, and employee induction programs to support new hires.
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, appraisals, and improvement plans.
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions with fairness and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements (NSSF, SHIF, PAYE), and company HR policies.
  • Coordinate payroll validation, leave management, and benefits administration.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and implement learning and development programs.
  • Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and productivity for decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support management in organisational development and change initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRMIS/ERP data.
  • Prepare periodic HR reports and contribute to audits and compliance reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Higher Diploma in HR or CHRP certification is an added advantage.
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, HR best practices, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems (HRMIS/ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and build strong relationships across teams.
