Description

The HR & Operations Manager will play a dual role of leading the school’s human resource management and overseeing day-to-day operational functions to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant running of the institution. The role is central to maintaining a high-performance culture, ensuring staff wellbeing, compliance with labor and education regulations, and operational excellence aligned with the school’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

Human Resource Management

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and staff handbooks aligned to labor laws and school culture.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Manage staff performance appraisals, professional development programs, and succession planning.
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Maintain accurate HR records including contracts, leave, benefits, and compliance documentation.
  • Drive employee engagement, staff welfare, and workplace culture initiatives.

Operational Management

  • Ensure school compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Supervise support staff (administration, transport, catering, cleaning, security, etc.) to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for supplies, utilities, and outsourced services.
  • Support planning and execution of school events, activities, and examinations.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures related to HR and operations, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Implement systems and processes for smooth workflow, accountability, and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Education Management, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CIPD, SHRM) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR or operations, preferably in an educational institution or service-oriented organization.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and operations management.
