An HR assistant performs administrative and operational HR tasks, focusing on duties like managing employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, supporting payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Post job openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, conduct reference checks, prepare employment contracts, and coordinate new hire orientations and training. Employee Records Management: Maintain confidential employee records, files, and databases, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Payroll and Benefits: Process payroll information, manage time and attendance records, and assist employees with benefits enrollment and claim resolution. Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the HR department, manage the HR team's calendar, and handle incoming inquiries. Compliance and Policies: Assist with the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, support conflict resolution, and manage employee grievances.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with candidates, employees, and other staff. Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain organized records. Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate data entry, record keeping, and administrative tasks. Confidentiality: The ability to handle sensitive and private employee information with discretion. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in HR software, such as HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and basic computer skills like MS Office. Emotional Intelligence: Empathy and the ability to understand and manage employee emotions and interpersonal dynamics.
