Responsibilities or duties
Coordination of the group annual planning and budgeting process through effective communication, integration of budgeting processes, standardization of budget collation templates, ensuring automated capturing of all unit budget information, dual controls on budget capturing and approval, and bottom-up consolidation into entities, and group budget.
Preparing and presenting budget updates to senior management to ensure timely and efficient decision-making. An advisor to the Group Finance Director for cross functional resource allocation strategies and analytics.
An advisor to group entities heads of finance on modelling performance scenarios and guiding them through the annual planning and budgeting process.
Implement enhancements to the budget system and support group entities in efficient utilization of the budget system to drive annual forecasting and budgeting process.
Design and implement dynamic and flexible projection/forecasting processes that enhance the timely allocation of resources, including achievement of annual budget goals, performance trends of income statement, and balance sheet, and drivers of performance variance vs budgets and prior years.
Review and improvement of the group planning and budgeting policies, systems, processes, and procedures to ensure the consistent application and ease of the forecasting, planning and budgeting across the group.
Coordinate with the various entities to prepare forecasts and budgets to meet group business targets.
Coordinate with various entities and departments and prepare recurring financial reporting packages tracking performance against sets targets, including variances explanations.
Lead the group-wide annual planning and budget process, in liaison with group strategy, providing guidance on prioritization of the group’s strategic initiatives.
Ensuring timely resource allocation as per approved annual budgets, tracking and providing visibility to key strategic targets vs outcomes, to inform alignment in meeting annual targets.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
A Bachelor's degree in a business related field
Certified Public Accountant
Professional qualifications in financial analysis e.g. CFA or Master's degree in a business related field is an added advantage
Experience needed
A minimum of eight years' relevant progressive management experience in finance. This will include specific experience in the following areas:
Financial analysis and business performance management.
Finance business partnering
Proficiency in application of business intelligence tools e.g. EDWH, SAP BI, etc.
Stakeholder management of diverse calibre
Management of a finance team
Finance project management
Finance risk management
