Purpose

Lead and supervise the camp’s driving and guiding operations, ensuring safe transportation of guests and delivery of high-quality safari experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Safari Guiding & Guest Experience:

Lead guided game drives and wildlife experiences; share in-depth knowledge of wildlife, ecosystems, and local culture; ensure guests enjoy safe, informative, and memorable safari experiences

Team Leadership:

Supervise and coordinate the lodge’s team of safari guides; provide training, mentoring, and support to junior guides; ensure staff adhere to guiding standards, safety protocols, and company procedures; assist management with scheduling of guides and vehicle use

Guest Experience:

Assist lodge management with logistical planning for guest activities; support transfers, airstrip pick-ups, and other transportation duties; ensure equipment used for guiding is properly maintained and stored

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma or Degree in Tour Guiding and Administration, Tourism Management; Silver Level Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA) certification preferred

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a professional safari guide or driver guide in a lodge or safari camp

Skills:

Strong knowledge of Kenyan wildlife, flora and fauna, and conservation; excellent communication and storytelling skills; leadership and team supervision experience; high level of professionalism; ability to work in remote bush environments; basic mechanical knowledge of safari vehicles is an advantage; valid Kenyan driving licence with excellent off-road driving skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
