About the Role
WRI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance, Multilevel Partnerships to lead financial operations and strategy for its multilevel partnerships initiatives. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our partnerships with governments, cities, and other sub-national entities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial management of all multilevel partnership projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with WRI’s standards and donor requirements.
- Manage relationships with financial partners, including government agencies, foundations, and other stakeholders.
- Provide financial guidance and support to project teams and country offices.
- Contribute to the development of new partnership opportunities by providing financial analysis and projections.
- Ensure the efficient and effective allocation of financial resources.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector or international development.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with multilevel partnerships and diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in managing complex projects and partnerships is highly desirable.

This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
