The Head of Credit Control will provide strategic leadership in the credit granting process, debt collection, and risk management. The HOD will drive efficiency, ensure compliance with credit policies, and manage receivables to maximize cash flow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement robust credit management strategies and policies and Procedures.
  • Perform credit assessments (KYC), maintain a risk register, and proactively identify emerging credit risks
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the credit control team to reduce debtor days, increase collections, and minimize bad debt.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including trend analysis, and cash inflow forecasts for management
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant legal frameworks
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data protection and internal controls.
  • Produce regular reports on debtor performance, risks and cash flow forecasts
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems and processes
  • Maintenance of all contracts signed with all hospital debtors
  • Developing credit management capacity within the department

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree in accounting, /Finance or other business-related fields from a recognized institution
  • Professional qualification in credit management will be an added advantage
  • 3-5+ years of experience in credit control, with proven experience in a Healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in computer applications and financial software
  • Professional qualifications like CICM (Charted Institute of Credit Management) are a strong advantage
  • Membership with Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya
