Background

Wananchi Group is a leading provider of integrated communication solutions in East Africa. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Engineering to lead our Fiber Network Operations team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the fiber network infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for network growth and optimization.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the network.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in telecom/network engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in senior leadership roles.
• Strong HFC & GPON experience.
• Expertise in Fiber Access Technologies (HFC, FTTH, GPON, XGS-PON, Metro Ethernet).
• Experience with TV Platforms (IPTV, OTT, CDN).
• Proficiency in IP Networking (BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Knowledge of Voice technologies (VoIP, SIP, IMS).
• Familiarity with Transport technologies (DWDM, SDH, Microwave).

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education: bachelor degree
