  • Our client is a service-based organization, majorly providing extracurricular activities to learning institutions and other interested parties. They intend to hire a qualified candidate to be the head of finance, reporting to the General Manager and working closely with all members of the senior management, the administrative, and the technical teams.
  • The organization has 500+ clients and has operations in 3 locations. There is a calendar of events that includes termly performances and an annual Nutcracker Christmas performance at the Kenya National Theatre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting (QuickBooks & Excel- based models).
  • Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and profitability reports.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, NHIF, NSSF).
  • Manage payroll, supplier payments, and weekly debtor follow-ups.
  • Reconcile supplier and debtor accounts; manage cheque processing.
  • Track and account for sponsorships, student performances, and donor funding.
  • Follow up on WHT certificates from clients and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits; improve financial processes and controls. Advise on KRA audits and legislation changes affecting the organization.

Requirements:

  • A qualified CPAK who is registered with ICPAK and has a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience of over 5 years in a senior finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
